Dahab is one of my favourite places in the world. First time I was there was in February 2002. I came back on a one-month vacation in June 2003 and during that I decided to stay. The first three months or so I did nothing, not even diving because I was afraid to go down. So I snorkelled, read a lot of books and got a nice tan! After a while I had had enough of the Egyptian food, especially the bread, so I started baking my own bread and it became very popular amongst my friends and one of them suggested I opened a Danish bakery. After a little while I decided to do so and me and my Egyptian boyfriend started looking for a nice place. It was not easy because Egyptian standards did NOT match my demands and when they finally did the owner knew his worth and wanted way to much money. After some weeks we agreed on a price with the owner of a place called Salam Camp. The kitchen was a mess and there was no oven but we started removing walls, build-in tables, asked a carpenter to make a nice railing, by chance we found a perfect and very cheap oven, painted and cleaned everything and I made the menu. We decided to have a big opening on the 21st of December 2003 with a buffet so people could taste my products. Some English friends promised to do their fireshow for free and we made flyers and posters. to be continued
